Josephine Philips

Founder & CEO, Sojo (United Kingdom)

Josephine Philips is a young entrepreneur at the intersection of sustainable fashion and technology. While studying Physics and Philosophy at King’s College London, she became increasingly aware of the environmental and ethical issues of fast fashion. Turning to second-hand shopping, she soon realized the lack of accessible repair services and, in 2021, founded Sojo. As the UK’s first clothing repair and tailoring app, Sojo enables customers to book repairs via a mobile application, with bike couriers collecting and delivering garments, making clothing repair seamless and accessible.

Philips quickly scaled her company at a young age: she was listed in Forbes “30 Under 30”, recognized in Vogue Business’s “100 Innovators”, and led Sojo’s expansion into Paris, opening its first international store at Westfield Les 4 Temps shopping center. Beyond serving individual users, Sojo has also expanded into B2B partnerships, integrating repair services directly into major fashion brands such as Ganni and Paul Smith.

Philips’s mission is to normalize repair in fashion and transform consumption through solutions that extend the life of garments. With its accessible, innovative, and impact-driven approach, Sojo is bridging the gap between consumers and the fashion industry, helping embed sustainability as a cultural norm.
