He was born in 1975. He graduated from Galatasaray University Faculty of Law in 2000 and subsequently completed his master’s degree in public law at the same university. His academic work has focused on administrative law and administrative judicial procedure, in which he has also lectured and provided legal consultancy. Since its establishment, Mahmut M. Özdil has served as a member of both the Board of Trustees and the Board of Directors of the Turkish Maarif Foundation. He is married and has one child.
