Mr. Süleyman Yılmaz has been the UNIDO Country Representative and Director of the UNIDO Centre for Regional Cooperation in Türkiye since 2009.
Prior to this role, he worked at the OECD Development Centre in Paris as an Adviser and Economist–Policy Analyst.
In his earlier career, he was the Representative of the Turkish Standards Institution (TSE) in Uzbekistan (Tashkent) and later Head of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Office of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) in Sarajevo.
He contributed to the EU-Türkiye Harmonization of Technical Legislation process as the Rapporteur of the Industrial Policy Working Group and the cooperation with the EU Commission, particularly for CENELEC (European Electrotechnic Standardization Organization) during his career at TSE.
Following his MBA studies supported by the EU Jean Monnet Scholarship, he did internship at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Enterprise and Industry, Directorate of the Internal Market in Brussels.
Mr. Yılmaz holds an MBA from Warwick Business School (UK), an MSc in Economics from Hacettepe Universitesi, and a BSc in Physics from Middle East Technical University.
