Laura Reyes

Member, UN Advisory Board on Zero Waste & Executive Director, CEMPRE (Colombia)

Laura Reyes is an environmental engineer with more than 15 years of experience in sustainability across sectors such as telecommunications, food, and cosmetics. She specializes in developing environmental strategies aligned with global goals and standards, while fostering collaboration among ICT, food and beverage industries, and civil society organizations to strengthen public policies and municipal initiatives.

Since 2012, she has served as the Executive Director of CEMPRE (Business Commitment to Recycling), where she has led efforts to promote circular economy practices and improve materials management. Under her leadership, CEMPRE has gained international recognition for advancing sustainable consumption models and supporting ecosystem protection .

In 2023, Reyes was appointed to the United Nations Advisory Board on Zero Waste, becoming the only Colombian among 13 distinguished global experts selected to guide international waste management policies. In this role, she contributes to advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), promoting circular economy models, and strengthening the adoption of zero waste practices worldwide.
